Theme of the month : White

The winter theme par excellence. Why not make the most of the snowy weather to give your watch a magical setting? But don’t forget to use your imagination. White is a highly symbolic colour, and it’s omnipresent. If the composition is just right, even a simple white watch can make an amazing photo.

About Watch Photo Awards

Your watch photo exhibited at the Geneva Museum of Art and History and your recognized talent in the major specialized media!

International contest

The Watch Photo Awards are the first annual international watch photography competition open to amateur watch lovers and professionals alike. Every month from May to October will have a different theme, and awards will be given to the photos that best meet the criteria of creativity, technical accomplishment and relevance to the theme.

Visibility in the major specialized media

Each month, the jury selects its ten favorite photos and publishes them. The audience then votes among the ten pictures of selected watches to win the author of the best a weekend for two in a 5-star in Geneva. All the winning photos will be published by our media partners, as well as being featured in a special exhibition at the end of the year in Geneva, before travelling to other cities.

An exhibition at the Geneva Museum of Art and History

On the occasion of the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix, the winning photographers will receive an invitation to attend the preview of the commemorative exhibition of 60 winning photos. The best photo of the year will be decided by a separate public vote. The winner will be awarded the WPA trophy, and will be invited to sit on the panel for the following year.

The 6 members of the jury

The jury will select the 10 best photos each month based on the criteria of creativity, technical accomplishment and relevance to the theme. The jury comprises six watch experts, appointed each year by the organisers.

The jury members for 2019 are: Pierre-André Montjovet (watch collector, financier and globetrotter), Denis Hayoun (specialist watch photographer and founder of Diode studio), Marie de Pimodan (watch journalist), Edouard Haegi (watch and car photographer with an interest in vintage watch auctions), Brice Lechevalier (founder and editor-in-chief of GMT, CEO of WorldTempus) and Ondrej Vislocky (winner of the 2018 WPA).
